Description:

The standard speaks of a tape diagram, which is a drawing that looks like a segment of tape, used to illustrate number relationships.  It is also known as a strip diagram, bar model, fraction strip or length model.  The tape diagram works particularly well to show comparisons between part to part or part to whole ratios.
